Technology.

The changes to this hobby due to technology have been nothing short of extraordinary. While there will always be a respected place for scratch-built items (those skills are irreplaceable), the proliferation of 3D printing that is accessible, plentiful, and rapidly becoming easier to use will continue to drive our hobby into the future. A piece that may have taken hours or days to scratch-build can now be designed, printed, and used in a fraction of the time. This also allows us to share our hard work with others, be it printed parts, or the files to print them yourself, making now an incredible time to be a builder.
